CoachCal grew up in Penticton, BC, home of Ironman Canada. In 1985, he began competing in triathlons. Along the way, he attended Clinics and Camps by Dave Scott, Ray Browning, and Phil Maffetone. His 28 years of racing experience is a necessary component to his extensive education.
