CoachCal has been coaching for over 30 years. Not just focusing on athletes, but on individuals whose goals range from climbing Mount Everest to recapturing the power of active living.
Travel Fee for Offsite Meetings: 0.65 per km
We require 48 hours notice for any rescheduling or cancellation of one-on-one appointments. A $50.00 administration fee will be levied if you fail to do so.
BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD Programs: There is a 4 month commitment in each program. After the 4 month period, you are required to inform CriticalSpeed by email or phone of your discontinuation in the program. A 1 month advance notice is required when discontinuing the program. Failure to notify 1 month in advance will result in continued monthly charges for the access to the website coaching, CSR Updates by email and other benefits.
If for some reason you can not utilize this coaching and group support service due to injury, the service can be transferred or a credit can be given.
CSR offers unique programs that provide the most indoor coached group training in Calgary. The majority of athletes can swim and run any time of the year, but off season biking remains the difficult discipline to develop. For this reason, we offer 2 coached swim sessions per week and more focus on longer indoor rides, brick sessions and snowshoeing, along with outdoor running and track sessions.
No need to do weight training as after most group training sessions, we do a series of conditioning for strength and power development. CSR offers the perfect blend of weekly training with mini or HA camps and EPIC training camps necessary to build that training volume.

CSR offers a specific training path and Program for the Popular IRONMAN or CHALLENGE Triathlons, 70.3 and Half Ironman Events, Sprint and Olympic Races plus XTERRA Off Road Racing.
All MultiSport races require a massive amount of endurance. The CSR program offers many opportunities to push your limits week in and out when participating in the BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD Programs. However, if you are interested in reaching your true triathlon potential or if your goal event is greater than 6 hours, it is very important to incorporate the EPIC and Mini Camps into your training year.
In 2013, CSR offers programs that are race focussed. Although you can choose any race that fits your desires, the CSR Team will focus on the list below in the 4 categories of Ironman, 70.3, Sprint or Olympic and XTERRA. It is exciting to have a large group of teammates at these events for support and team energy.
All CSR athletes work hard and try to attend all training sessions. Maximum fitness and health is achieve by strategic planning then exexution. CoachCal attends to all the scheduling, sequencing and overlapping of all the swim, bike, run, body conditioning, mini and EPIC camps to ensure maximum fitness development without sacrificing health and daily energy. However because so many independant systems need attention and development, it is best to start early in the season (November) even if your goal race is in August. For example, in November and December, the majority of workouts are designed to rebalance the body with some core strength, impact training and neurological reconditioning through speed work and the addition of balance and agility (snowshoeing, plyometrics). This period of development must not be missed and plays a large role in allowing the body to tolerate higher volumes of training in the New Year.
Each month builds on the previous month. Modifications to the training schedule and volume are made to athletes joining mid program, but to get the most value from upcoming camps, it is best to start early and make friends.
Some weeks will have more bike volume, while other weeks might have more rest. If you miss some of these sessions, not to worry, you can either receive the exact details from CoachCal or just flow into the next week. Not all athletes are capable of attending every camp or weekly training sessions. CoachCal will outline the MUST DO training sessions and help you organize your time.
If you come to most of the group sessions, you have an opportunity to speak with CoachCal at the end of the sessions. Often CoachCal will participate in the sessions or do the session before the group. This allows for a better understanding of the level of fatigue and fitness gains during the program.
